Leonard Cohen

Part 1 of 3 of my Vodka + Leonard Cohen melancholy art session.

This guy got me through last night. I hear that in his 40+ years in the music business, he may have recorded a bad song once, but I have yet to hear it. Most famous for writing 'Hallelujah', one of the most beautifully written songs of all time. (and unfortunate American Idol favorite)

Here he is in his later years. I loved the darkness of this photo. And recently, I've been inspired to spend more time with shadows by Chris Samnee , and I had a lot of fun playing around.

This, and the other 2 pieces in this series, were technically done digitally, in Corel Painter on my ill-deserved 21" Cintiq, but I call it traditional since the only thing the computer offered me was an "undo" button every once in a while.
